Tubular breasts (also called “tuberous” breasts) occur when breasts have a narrow base, which constricts the tissue during development. Instead of breasts becoming round, the narrow base forces the tissue to develop into a more oval, elongated shape, sometimes with puffy or enlarged nipples. If you have tubular breasts, their smaller size and unusual shape can be frustrating, making you feel anxious and self-conscious.

Thankfully, tubular breasts can be effectively corrected through breast augmentation. Breast implants placed by one of our experienced Atlanta breast surgeons can help return your tubular breasts to a more normal size and shape, balancing out your figure and restoring your self-confidence.

During tubular breast correction, your surgeon will place special internal incisions within your breasts to help release scar tissue, round out the base of the breast, and create a more natural breast crease. The goal is to add volume and create cleavage. If your breasts have considerable droop (“ptosis”), your breast augmentation may also involve elements of a breast lift. Tubular breast correction can be performed with an incision no bigger than the one required for regular breast augmentation or breast lift if needed.
